As a JMC Research Assistant delving into the realms of international law and environmental politics, I've honed an array of invaluable skills. Firstly, my ability to conduct comprehensive literature reviews and synthesize complex information has strengthened, enabling me to grasp intricate legal frameworks and environmental policies with clarity. Moreover, I've cultivated proficient research methodologies, adept at gathering and analyzing data from diverse sources, including legal texts, scholarly articles, and policy documents. My capacity for critical analysis has flourished, allowing me to scrutinize the nuances of international agreements and their implications on environmental governance. Additionally, my communication skills have advanced through drafting reports, presenting findings at research showcases such as the 2024 Michigan State University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum (UURAF), and engaging in scholarly discourse, fostering effective collaboration within interdisciplinary teams. In my role as a Research Assistant in the MSU Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics investigating price discrimination and racial discrimination, I've developed a robust skill set essential for rigorous empirical analysis and academic publication. Through hands-on experience, I became familiar with creating and executing regression models in R, employing advanced statistical techniques to uncover patterns and relationships within complex datasets. My expertise extends to data cleaning, manipulation, and visualization, allowing me to generate insightful figures and charts that elucidate key findings. Additionally, I've cultivated a keen eye for detail, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our analyses. With my PI, Dr. Michael Olabisi, I've refined my ability to articulate research hypotheses, interpret results, and craft compelling narratives for publication. This journey has not only deepened my understanding of economic theory and social dynamics but also equipped me with the methodological rigor and communication skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to academic discourse in the field.
